What is the Wall that Heals?
In November 1996, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) introduced a mobile version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. This replica, unveiled on Veterans Day, was created to bring the Memorial's powerful message to communities across America. Since its first tour, The Wall That Heals has visited hundreds of locations, allowing millions to connect with its enduring legacy.
This traveling Memorial brings the names etched into its surface back to the neighborhoods, families, and friends of those who served. It offers an exact 3/4 scale replica of the iconic Wall and a mobile Education Center. Together, they foster understanding, remembrance, and connection for all who visit. We will be hosting The Wall That Heals in Clovis, CA from October 9th-12th, 2025. It's free and open to the public.

Why Visit the Wall That Heals?
The Wall That Heals offers a powerful opportunity to connect with the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial without traveling to Washington, D.C. This traveling exhibit allows communities to honor the more than three million Americans who served during the Vietnam War and remember the 58,281 men and women who gave their lives. By bringing The Wall to local neighborhoods, it provides a personal and accessible space for reflection, healing, and education.
Visiting The Wall That Heals offers a chance to experience the profound impact of the Memorial in a familiar and comforting environment. For many veterans, it can be a first step toward facing the names of friends and comrades lost during the war. Families and community members also have the opportunity to honor loved ones and learn about the Vietnam War’s history and sacrifices through the mobile Education Center.
Through its interactive features—such as the timeline of the Vietnam War, the In Memory plaque replica, and displays of local service members—The Wall That Heals fosters connection, understanding, and remembrance, ensuring the stories of those who served continue to inspire future generations.
